Vehicle Description 1931 FORD ROADSTER PICK UP TRULY ONE OF A KIND.
This 1931 Ford Roadster Pick Up is a culmination of precise planning, imaginative design and innovation and unbelievable talent and dedication to upmost quality.
All body components are hand fabricated metal.
The is no fiberglass or body filler used anywhere on this build! All panels are laser straight and are polished to a mirror like finish.
Weather viewed from front, rear side or below, it is stunning.
Needless to say, the result is a piece of art.
THE BODY It started life as a 1931 Ford closed cab pickup.
The roof has been cut off and replaced with a hand-made aluminum removable top.
The front windshield has been fit with a cut-down 1970 VW Superbeetle, with about 4in removed from the top.
Top front seal is early Mazda Miata.
Radiator shell is 1936 Ford pickup tilted back 10 degrees.
Aprons have had 5in removed from the height and custom running board brackets fabricated.
Top of radiator shell has been removed and replaced with a hand formed one-piece power hood and custom one-off hood hinge.
Hood sides just slide in place and are held tight when hood is lowered via Hotronics linear actuator.
Bed is all steel construction hand formed.
Black Walnut wood floor held in place by hidden fasteners beneath the bed strips.
Tailgate latch is on inside of gate and swings to the driver's side to unlatch.
Latches and cables are from 1988 Chevy S10 pickup.
Rear are from 2006-2011 Chevy HHR.
DRIVERS COMPARTMENT The top has four latches securing it in place.
Two up front and two in the rear.
The rear latches are push button type that actuate 1988 Toyota seat belt latches.
Latches are located in the top side of each seat back.
Unlatch the front latches first, then depress the rear material enough to push in the latch release.
Slightly pushing down on the top while pressing the release will help the latch open.
When both sides have been unlatched, raise the driver's side and place a heavy rag or towel between the top on the painted body.
Go to passenger side, place a towel between top and body.
Grasp the top from the front and rear edge and lift off.
Top is very light, approximately 8lbs.
Doors have been flush fitted on both ends and door handles are from a 2006 Nissan Ultima.
Interior was custom made by Rogelios Auto Upholstery in Baldwin Park, California.
Center console has fold down arm rest, press in at the base of the arm to release.
Switches in front of shifter control the power windows, power hood and power door locks.
Dash gauge cluster is Dakota Digital.
Fuel tank fill door can be release by pressing the button to the left of the steering column.
Button to the right of the steering column will engage the AC compressor.
Controls for the ait and heat are at the center of the dash.
AC is a Vintage Air system.
Radio is Autosound and is located inside the glove box.
Fuses are located under the dash at the driver's side firewall.
