Vehicle Description 1972 INTERNATIONAL SCOUT II TRAVELTOP 4x4 C-789 This classic 1972 International Harvester Scout II Travel top 4x4 retains its original engine, transmission, rear end, chassis, suspension, dash, glass, all body panels, removable top and other as-built features.
The manufacturers build line sheet is retained in its original location on the upper cowl and is documented testimony to the originality of this treasure.
This Scout II has never been lifted, body modified or mechanically modified from original.
In 2021, a cosmetic repaint in original International Red, new upholstery, new door rubber and removable top rubber, new tires and new polished wheels as well as a mechanical complete service bring it up to a pristine level rarely experienced in an original unmodified body or chassis specimen.
The Scout II is powered by its original International Harvester 345ci 144hp V-8 with nearly 300 net pound torque-feet and is connected to original T-18 Warner Gear 4-speed manual transmission, original 1.
41 3D 4x4 and original 3.
73 rear end with 700D Saginaw 4 wheel power brakes.
The original dash is intact, all gauges function.
A new steering wheel has been installed.
The interior of the Scout II was basic-just what an off-roader wants, however this Scout II includes the original Deluxe interior package which consisted of front bench seat, full width rear seat, and rear cargo area mat.
This Scout II is a treasure as it is essentially a survivor of its original as built condition, retaining its original body, interior, unmodified chassis, and with recent cosmetic only upgrade.
